In addition to the functions of education and research, the INSP’s purpose includes strengthening health services by conducting health surveys, providing support for epidemiological monitoring of infectious diseases and other health problems, developing diagnostic technologies for transmissible diseases, and evaluating and/or performing diagnostic services for community sectors that require these services, among other activities.
