"Leadership and excellence in the practice of public health"

The Master of Public Health (MPH) with specialization in Health Administration is one of 14 graduate programs that deal with professional approach INSP through the School of Public Health of Mexico. It aims to develop leaders, managers and highly trained staff to manage, coordinate and organize systems, health services and programs provided under standards of excellence.

It provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to lead working groups with a vision of leadership in the administrative process and management in the field of health.

The Program Coordinator’s perspective

For Dr. Juan Francisco Molina Rodriguez, academic coordinator of the graduate program, graduates are prepared to work in terms of results, such as improving productivity, efficiency, effectiveness and quality of care, and ensure financial protection the population to contribute to health equity and social justice.

"During this Masters program students not only gain the skills needed to develop a quality work, they also acquire the attitudes necessary to be leaders in the field, to guide strategies to improve health administrative processes.

Students acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform with attitude and leadership, especially to analyze health needs, prioritize and propose actions and evaluate them. This area of concentration prepares leaders of health systems and services, which is very attractive to the national and international candidates. We have had students from almost all the national territory and from countries such as Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Chile, among others. "

Benefits and future prospects

Given the characteristics of the MSP in Health Administration, graduates can be inserted quickly into the labor market, both in the public and private sectors, in addition, the profile of the candidates is open to all professions and nationalities.

The full-time mode of this Master degree is taught in Cuernavaca and is registered with the CONACyT’s Graduate Program of Excellence; scholarship can be processed once the applicant has been accepted as a student.

Conde Erika Valencia, BA in Nursing, worker Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the three semester student of this master shares her experience:

"Because of my work at the IMSS, I had the desire to learn about health administration. During a conference several colleagues told me about this Master Degree Program. I looked, into it and became very interested and started the process. When I saw so many people doing entrance exams, I thought it would be difficult. But when I received my acceptance letter, I was amazed and very happy, I was excited because I was going to join the INSP!

Now there is an Erika before and after the Masters Degree! I knew I was coming here to learn great things, and I have! Being part of this program, and this team has been a great experience. If I had to choose one word to describe my stay here, it would certainly be, excellent. "
