INSP PARTICIPATES IN 4TH ARGENTINE HEALTH MINISTRY SEMINAR |
During the event, held on 29 and 30 October in the city of Buenos Aires, specialists from Mexico, Canada, Colombia and Argentina presented the situation of cervical cancer in their places of origin and highlighted the progress of Argentina in the prevention of this disease. The National Public Health Institute was represented at the seminar with the participation of Dr. Eduardo Lazcano Ponce, Associate Director of the Center for Population Health Research (CISP), who spoke about the Mexican experience in reorganizing the program for cervical cancer prevention and stressed that programs for prevention and control of this disease in Argentina follow a pattern such as Mexico, to adopt HPV testing as a screening strategy and initiate pilot programs in areas most affected by cervical cancer for the scientific evidence needed.
